The Fire Brings Gold

Process is painful, but the rewards of it far outweigh the suffering. There is no gold without fire. Given the choice, I would never want to skip the process. There might be some processes I might haven chosen over others I had to go through, but we don’t have that choice. But what comes out at the end – the priceless intimacy with God, the understanding of His faithfulness and the knowing of His nearness – let me tell you, it is worth it and it will never come to you any other way besides journeying through the processes of life with Him. The gold that is uncovered when your heart is tested and found faithful – it is worth every fight and every tear.

“Who is this coming up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved?” / Song of Solomon 8:5

May our hearts be found faithful and true to Him through the fire. May we be found coming up from the wilderness leaning upon our Beloved.

Hope Of Creation

My heart breaks when I look at the chaos and the confusion our world is in today. How in need we are of God. Man cannot fix man. Man cannot help man. There is a rise of blatant injustice and an increasing hatred for what is pure, noble and true. There is brokenness everywhere. There is no political solution we can come up with on our own to fix a broken and dying world. How in need we are for the return of Jesus. Our world is spinning out of control, and we can never fix it on our own because the root of most of what is going on today is the darkness of the human heart. How in need we are of the return of Jesus to make the wrong things right. We need His government and His rule because He alone is the perfect King. His judgements alone are true, perfect and good.

Jesus come back. Come back and help the widow, the orphan… the little girl who is being raped every day by man after man after man. Come back and help the needy, the oppressed and the defenseless. Come back and set the captives free. Come back and give us beauty for our ashes. Come back Lord. Come back with Your justice and Your righteousness. Come back with Your perfect judgements. We need You. Mankind needs You. We are dead and we are lost without You.

“I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you.” (John 14:18)

This is Your promise. Do not leave us as orphans Jesus. Come to us. You are our only hope.

Embrace The Fire

Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. (‭Psalms‬ ‭19‬:‭12-14‬ NKJV)

Left on our own, we are helpless to discern between righteousness and unrighteousness. Ways that seem right in our own eyes may lead us to death. (Prov 16:25) Who can discern his hidden sins? Who can understand his errors and secret faults? My heart trembles in fear because I cannot see what is hidden within me.

But He knows. And if we want to know, He is pleased to show us and take us through the fires of refinement. Of course there is a price to pay, but the rewards of it far, far outweighs the pain of sanctification. Better to pay the price of testing now than to pay the price of judgement later on. Better to be tested in my heart and to walk through the fire, than to live my life in ways that lead to death. We are never to abuse His grace and take it as an excuse for continuing to live in unrighteousness, hidden or unhidden. Sanctification is a necessary process and we are to walk in it. We are to walk out the righteousness given to us, and in doing so, willingly embrace the fire of testing and refining.

Give me the testing, and give me the fire, so that what is impure may be burnt away and what is of gold, uncovered.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. (‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭23-24‬ NKJV)

I Love Your Judgements

Truth is cast down
Justice is perishing
The widow is abused
The orphan is abandoned
Do you think that God won’t see?
When the needy are exploited and no one cares for the voiceless?
The world’s leaders have turned to corruption
Each one ensnared by consumption of another man’s labor

But there’s a Man who’s seated on the throne
And He’s coming back to bring forth justice

He’s stirring up His church and working through His saints
But this is not the end there will be a day
With the burning wrath of fire in His heart
Our God shall come and not be silent
The Lord has seen
He will repay
He will arise on a set day
All who call on His name, in turn He will save

How will the nations learn Your righteousness unless You bring Your judgements to the earth?

King Jesus, set the captives free.

“Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: Instruction will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations. My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.” (Isaiah 51:4-5 NIV)

Many accuse Him of being silent, but He is not deaf. There is an appointed end to suffering, and swiftly shall it come.
